Oaks of Righteousness ~ Pastor Brian Carlucci
Tuesday Jul 03, 2018
Tuesday Jul 03, 2018
Brian concludes our Rooted series by looking at an important theme: the Oaks of Righteousness. These trees were also known as the "strong ones" and are a symbol to us of what strength looks like and what we should aim to be. Yet, as Brian illustrates in his sermon, our path to becoming those "strong ones" is not one of working hard and becoming powerful, but of coming to God in our weakness. In fact, it is only when we embrace our need and acknowledge our weakness that we find that true strength in God.

Wednesday May 09, 2018
Esteem is most simply defined as the value we attribute to people, and as Gene concludes our HOME series, he shows how important this concept is. In a world where we, as humans, often use our beliefs and opinions to attack others, God demonstrates a different attitude for us to adopt: an attitude that appreciates and values others around us and sees them as worthy of our time and attention.

Friday May 04, 2018
Friday May 04, 2018
Rabbi Gene continues the HOME series, talking about something that's absolutely essential for life: meaning. Meaning is something that keeps us going through difficult times and that gives our lives a quality that makes them worth living, but it's not something we can do in isolation. As Gene shares in this message, it's only in the context of interacting with others and making their lives better somehow that we truly find meaning in our own lives. And, really, this is a beautiful design.

Hospitality seems like a pretty simple thing, but when we take a closer look, it's also a very powerful aspect of how our lives develop. At it's core, hospitality is all about having open hearts and open doors. Brian takes a look at the demonstration of hospitality that we see in Jesus and offers a challenge to the Cornerstone community to creatively make room for the other, share something authentic, and enjoy others.
